Plant Investment and Tap Fees
There are two fees when you join either of the water or sewer systems. The plant investment fee (PIF) is a fee to recoup the cost of the investment made to build the infrastructure that supports the entire system (water plant, tanks, pipe network, etc. in the case of the water system). It can also help pay for new infrastructure when it comes time to upgrade or expand. The tap fee is an additional fee to physically connect to the system.
