Elections
At the Regular Municipal Election scheduled for April 6, 2010, Nederland voters will elect four Trustees and a Mayor. The Mayor will serve a 2-year term and three Trustee Seats are 4-year seats while the candidate with the fewest votes will receive a two-year seat.
The incumbents whose seats are up for election are:

Trustee Kirk Barnett
Trustee Marci Wheelock
Trustee Roger Cornell
Mayor Pro Tem/Trustee Betty Porter
Persons wishing to run for these positions must meet the following criteria:
must be a U. S. citizen;
must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the election;
must have resided continuously in the Town of Nederland for a period of at least twelve consecutive months prior to their election;
must be a registered elector;
Candidates may reside anywhere within the Town.
Beginning on February 12, 2010, candidates can pickup nomination petitions from the Town Clerk's office at 45 West First St, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Candidates may circulate nomination petitions from February 15th through Friday, March 5th (last day to receive signatures). Each petition requires 10 signatures from registered electors within the boundaries of the Town of Nederland. Registered electors may sign only one (1) petition for the Mayoral candidacy and up to four (4) petitions for the Board of Trustees candidates (only one signature per candidate). Completed petitions must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5, 2010, with the Town Clerk's office.
Anyone desiring to vote in the upcoming election who has not yet registered to vote must do so by Monday, March 8, 2010. Persons may register to vote at the office of the Boulder County Clerk’s Office in Boulder.
